The “big three” cloud providers all promise speed and scale, but each has quirks that can make or break your project’s budget and timeline.

We compare AWS, Azure and Google Cloud from an SME’s point of view so you can choose with confidence.

The best cloud is the one that aligns to your workload and wallet.

Pricing models

Each provider bills computing time differently and offers its own discounts for steady workloads. Work out which model suits your usage before you commit.

Breadth versus depth

AWS has the widest range of services, Azure fits closely with Microsoft 365, and Google Cloud is strong in analytics and AI.

Support and ecosystem

Marketplace offerings, partner networks and regional data centres all affect compliance, and how locked in to one vendor you become.

Your choice of cloud should match your business goals, not popularity charts. The cheapest option up front can be the most expensive over time.

We build and run on AWS every day, mostly in the London region, so we’ll tell you plainly when another provider would suit you better. Tell us what you’re running, or read more about our cloud and hosting work.
