02 · Logo

Clear space

Leave clear space of 4u on every side of the logo. u is the logo’s own unit: the weight of the ring and of each bar, one sixteenth of the ring’s diameter.

So 4u is a quarter of the ring’s diameter, which on the lockup is a quarter of its height. Nothing goes inside it: no text, no edges and no other logos.

The dashed line marks 4u on every side: a quarter of the logo’s height.

Below 32 px, use the favicon, which is drawn for 16 to 24 px. The full five-bar mark blurs at that size.

    HEX
    #003369
    RGB
    0 51 105
    CMYK

The logo, buttons, links and the bars of the motif.

    RGB
    0 29 61
    CMYK

Large dark areas: hero bands, the footer, title slides and share images. The white logo goes on it.

  • Gold

    RGB
    255 195 0
    CMYK

The one accent: a fill under navy text, once per view.

  • White

    HEX
    #FFFFFF
    RGB
    255 255 255
    CMYK
    C0 M0 Y0 K0

Pages, and the white logo on navy.

Print. The CMYK values are starting points for coated stock (FOGRA39). Ask the printer for a hard proof: uncoated stock prints navy lighter and duller. For one-colour print, use the black logo set to K100, so it prints on the black plate alone.

Gold is a fill under Navy 900 text, at most once in any view: a main button, a highlighted price or a single chip. Never gold text, gold icons, gold motifs or gold in the logo.

05 · Type

Type

Two typefaces, both free under the SIL Open Font License:

  • Source Sans 3 for everything you read: headings in SemiBold (600) and text in Regular (400). The wordmark is set in it too.
  • Source Code Pro for labels and numbers: short labels in capitals, and figures that have a source.

Word, PowerPoint and Google Docs list the family as “Source Sans Pro”. Where neither typeface can be installed, use Arial.
